A product designer by trade, Achraf El Abed is a passionate dancer: from street jazz to modern jazz via contemporary dance and voguing, Achraf diversifies his fields of knowledge in dance but remains faithful to popular Tunisian feminine and oriental dance. He has experience of several shows, including Mounir El Argui’s “Lasmer Tounsi” and Fadhel El Jazir’s “Nouba”. He also notably choreographed and danced in the shows “Zine et Aziz” and “Erboukh”. In 2019 he created his own show “Howa Walla Heya” at the opening ceremony of the Mawjoudin queer film festival. He was also one of the lead dancers in the Tunisian concept show “Disco Al Arabi”, which took him from Tunisia to Dubai and as far as Germany.
In 2022, he left his native country and sought asylum in Canada, where he pursued his passion, performing regularly at festivals (Festival du Monde Arabe, Orientalys, Errances) and events such as Laylit and the Haram party.
