Weekend Logistics Team Lead
Description
The Weekend Logistics Team Leads will oversee setup and teardown for the festival, managing festival infrastructure, supplies and information.
Key Activities:
Coordinate Setup and Breakdown:
- Oversee the setup and breakdown of festival infrastructure including tents, stages, booths, and signage.
- Assign tasks to Set-up and Breakdown volunteers and ensure efficient execution of setup and breakdown procedures.
Vendor Coordination:
- Liaise with vendors to ensure they have necessary setup information and assist them during setup.
- Address any vendor concerns or issues during the festival weekend.
Equipment and Supplies Management:
- Manage inventory of equipment and supplies needed for the festival.
- Coordinate with operations staff to ensure timely delivery and setup of required materials.
Volunteer Supervision:
- Provide guidance and direction to volunteers assisting with logistics tasks.
- Ensure volunteers are briefed on safety protocols and assigned tasks appropriately.
Communication and Coordination:
- Maintain open communication channels with festival organizers, operations staff, and other team leads.
- Relay important information and updates to logistics team members in a timely manner.
Requirements: No prior experience is required.
Time Commitment: Mandatory presence during Festival weekend (August 28th evening, August 29th and 30th all day.).
Family Pride Team Lead
Description
The Family Pride Team Leads will facilitate the realization and operation of the Family Pride Zone for the festival.
Key Activities:
Coordinate with Entertainment:
- Act as the primary contact for entertainment and performers to coordinate set up and ensure smooth operation during the festival weekend.
Liaise with Organizations:
- Coordinate with various partner organizations and ensure they have everything they need on the day of.
Coordinate Volunteer Teams:
- Organize Capital Pride Family Pride Zone volunteers to ensure they all have a task at the Family Pride Zone.
Manage the Space:
- Ensure that the Family Pride zone remains clean and coordinate with the Capital Pride staff to ensure all required materials are on site.
Requirements: No prior experience is required.
Time Commitment: 5-10 hours prior to the festival in August. Mandatory presence during Festival weekend (August 28th evening, August 29th and 30th all day.).
Parade Team Lead
Description
The Parade Team Leads will help to ensure the smooth operation of the parade itself, including participants and logistics.
Key Activities:
Pre-Parade Planning:
- Meet regularly with the parade team to discuss logistics and plans for the parade
- Help to establish a parade order
- Be familiar with organizations registered in the parade
Day of Parade:
- Give clear instructions to volunteers and marchers on where to go
- Help with street closures
- Provide instructions for staging.
Requirements: Leadership skills and taking initiative are critical in this role
Time Commitment: 5-10 hours a month in July and August. Mandatory on August 30th before and after the parade.
Volunteer Headquarters Team Lead
Description
The Volunteer Headquarters Team Leads will be responsible for the smooth operation of our volunteer headquarters, which will include managing the space itself and assigning tasks to other volunteers.
Key Activities:
Team Management:
- Lead and motivate the volunteer headquarters team, ensuring clear communication and coordination among team members.
- Delegate tasks effectively and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team environment, promoting collaboration and teamwork.
Resource Management:
- Manage inventory and distribution of volunteer supplies, including badges, t-shirts, informational materials, and equipment.
- Ensure that volunteers have access to necessary resources and information to carry out their duties effectively.
Problem Solving and Support:
- Address any volunteer concerns, conflicts, or emergencies that may arise during the festival weekend.
- Provide timely resolution to issues and ensure that volunteers feel supported and valued.
- Work closely with festival organizers to address any operational challenges and maintain a smooth volunteer experience.
Requirements: No previous experience is required for this position.
Time Commitment: Mandatory presence during Festival weekend (August 22nd evening, August 23rd and 24th all day.)
Street Festival Team Lead
Description
The Street Festival Team Leads will oversee operations for the street festival from start to finish.
Key Activities:
Volunteer Coordination:
- Supervise street festival, information booth, and green team volunteers during the festival, offering guidance and support as needed.
Safety and Crowd Control:
- Monitor crowd flow and address any safety concerns or incidents that arise.
Community Engagement:
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all attendees, ensuring that the festival is a safe space for everybody.
- Collect feedback from attendees and vendors to identify areas for improvement and inform future planning efforts.
Cleanup and Post-Event Wrap-Up:
- Coordinate with Weekend Logistics Volunteer Team leads and vendors to dismantle booths, stages, and other festival infrastructure.
- Ensure that the festival site is left clean and free of debris, coordinating with sanitation crews as necessary.
- Conduct a post-event debriefing to discuss successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement, documenting lessons learned for future reference.
Requirements: No previous experience is required.
Time Commitment: 5-10 hours a month in August prior to the festival. Mandatory presence during Festival weekend (August 28th evening, August 29th and 30th all day.)
