2024 Pageant Application

Thank you for your interest in competing for the title of Ms, Mx or Mr Capital Pride 2024! The Capital Pride Pageant will be taking place on Saturday, August 17th, 2024. Please fill out this application in its entirety.

Applications close Friday, May 24th at midnight.

Successful applicants will be reached out to by early June and must be available the weekend of June 15th for a Promotional shoot. Capital Pride will review all applications and it’s expected that 5 contestants will be chosen for each of the three categories, to be determined by Capital Pride. Good Luck!

Mr. Mr. Capital Pride performers identify as a member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community and are portraying a male gender expression throughout the entire night of the pageant. Ms. Ms. Capital Pride performers identify as a member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community and are portraying a female gender expression throughout the entire night of the pageant. Mx. Mx. Capital Pride performers are not required to identify with the gender binary nor are they asked to portray a specified gender expression. Instead, they are encouraged to present themselves and perform the way they feel most comfortable.

Video Testimonial – In a 3 minute video, please answer the following questions in depth: In what ways do you remain active and involved in the 2SLGBTQ+ community? If you have any issues uploading a video please contact Deirdre Kellerman at [email protected]) A note about the Video Testimonial: Contestants are encouraged to film the video in Drag, however it is not required. Contestants must also send two photos of themselves in Drag alongside the video submission. Contestants must film the video horizontally (landscape). Videos do not need to be professionally filmed. The video should not exceed 3 minutes in length. Contestants must begin the video by listing their Drag name, pronouns and what title they’re hoping to compete for. Please do not exceed 3 minutes. Feel free to also speak a bit about your Drag persona and any information you wish to share. Video applications will be reviewed by community partners and members of Capital Pride in an unbiased and fair manner. Successful applicants will be contacted with next steps in preparation for the Pageant in August.
