Capital Pride’s awards program celebrates the local 2SLGBTQ+ community. Our recipients are leaders engaged in meaningful work in the local area. Each year, our recipients lead the annual Pride Parade. 

We are currently accepting nominations for our 2022 Grand Marshall, Honoured Groups and Youth Marshall awards. Nominations are being accepted until April 15, 2022. 

  • Grand Marshall: The Grand Marshall is a leader within the 2SLGBTQ+ community. Through professional, personal or volunteer work, they have had a big impact in the National Capital Region, Kitigan Zibi or Pikwakanagan First Nation. The work of the Grand Marshall may extend beyond the local region. 
  • Honoured Group: An organization or group that has had a big impact on the local community in the National Capital Region, Kitigan Zibi or Pikwakanagan First Nation, either through an ongoing project or a particular initiative. The work of the group may also extend beyond the local region.  
  • Youth Marshall: The Youth Marshal is a person aged 25 or under who has, through their dedication, elevated, brightened, and advocated for the LGBTQ2S+ community in the National Capital Region, Kitigan Zibi or Pikwakanagan First Nation. The Youth Marshal has made a meaningful impact in school, work, a community organization or their neighbourhoods.

Kindly note that nominations are reviewed by Capital Pride and will be announced in the lead-up to the 2022 Capital Pride Festival.
