FAQ

If you are a queer person who lives or works in the National Capital Region, then you can nominate a person or a group, even if you don’t know them personally. And yes, you can nominate yourself. We encourage you to submit nominations that reflect the full diversity of our community, including people and groups who face intersecting forms of marginalization and who have made an impact through their advocacy work, their activism, cultural work or community-building.

The Executive Director and the Board of Directors determine whether the nominees are eligible. All nominees must accept the nomination. The Grand Marshall and Honoured Group are then chosen by vote by a panel made up of past Grand Marshals, the Executive Director and Board members of Capital Pride. The panel will consist of approximately 12 members.
