Hibo Lagerfeld is a Canadian Somali artist with a deep passion for pop, hip-hop, and R&B music. She blends timeless tracks, like a song that charted at #80 on the Billboard Hot 100 12 years ago, with fresh hits dropped just yesterday. Hibo thrives on curating the perfect vibe, carefully selecting tracks that flow seamlessly into one another.
Whether performing live or producing mixes, I want to create immersive environments where listeners can reconnect with past favourites and discover new anthems in the same breath.
The core of my practice is the belief that music should bring people together. I am intentionally inclusive, focusing not just on sound, but on the energy in the room. I try to read my audience closely and curate each set to foster a sense of belonging, whether that means slowing things down for a moment of collective reflection or turning it up for pure, joyful release.
My background and lived experience deeply inform the care I put into building safer spaces for diverse audiences, especially for Black, brown, queer, and immigrant communities. My sets are more than parties! They are communal moments where people can let go, feel free, and be themselves without judgment
