“Together, We Shine” celebrates the power of visibility, connection, and community. Inspired by the symbol of the spotlight, this year’s theme recognizes the people, stories, and voices that make Ottawa–Gatineau’s 2SLGBTQIA+ community vibrant, resilient, and proud.
Light does more than illuminate—it helps people find one another. Pride has always been about creating spaces where people can be seen, supported, and celebrated for who they are. Every activist, artist, volunteer, organization, ally, business, and community member who shows up to celebrate helps strengthen that sense of belonging.
The theme also reflects Capital Pride’s mission to create opportunities to celebrate, advocate, educate, and connect. At a time when 2SLGBTQIA+ communities continue to face discrimination and division around the world, “Together, We Shine” is a reminder that visibility matters, community matters, and standing together matters.
This August, Capital Pride invites festival-goers to celebrate the joy of self-expression and the power of coming together. Because when we come together, we shine.
