Capital Pride’s 2023 Festival Weekend takes place on Friday, August 25 and Sunday, August 27. Like any good neighbour, we’re committed to working with you to minimize the impact on your weekend.

Road Closures


Roads closed from 3:00PM on Friday, August 25, to 12:00AM on Sunday, August 27.

  • Bank Street will be closed to traffic from Slater St. to James St. Most cross streets will remain open to traffic.
  • Somerset Street will be closed to traffic from Bank St. to O’Connor St.


Roads closed from 7:00AM on Saturday, August 26, to 12:00AM on Sunday, August 27.

  • Gloucester Street from Bank St to 170 Gloucester St. Access to parking lots will be maintained.

Local access to parking and/or homes on side streets closed for festival weekend or during the parade will be provided by Festival Volunteers and Ottawa Police. Taxis, ride shares, and deliveries will not have access. Those with accessibility needs will be accommodated.

Parade Restrictions 


Road closed from 12:15pm to 4:00pm, no on-street parking from 6am – 4pm on Sunday, August 27.

  • Elgin St between Laurier and Gladstone
  • Gladstone Ave between Elgin and Kent
  • Kent St between Gladstone and Slater
  • Laurier Ave between Kent and Bank 


Road closed from 6:00am – 4pm on Sunday, August 27:

  • Laurier St between Nicholas and Elgin E

Roads will re-open as the parade concludes. Parking restrictions will be sign posted by the City of Ottawa on Saturday, August 26.

Music & Performances

The TD Main Stage will be located at Bank & Slater and operate on Friday (7pm – 11pm), Saturday (2pm – 11pm) and Sunday (2pm – 10pm). Sound checks will also take place each day.

The Somerset Stage will be located at Bank & Somerset and operate on Friday (7pm – midnight), Saturday (4pm – midnight) and Sunday (2pm – 11pm). Sound checks will also take place each day.

There will be a Community Stage at Bank St and Laurier Ave which will operate between 12pm and 8pm on Saturday and Sunday.
