DJ Roxysunset (she/they) is a queer DJ from Ottawa remixing songs with a positive message. As a DJ she puts her skills to use in the Queer community by creating events & safe spaces. In Ottawa, she created an event called Night of Lights; a queer community drag show. You can find them Saturday nights at the Lookout Bar dropping beats on the dance floor. At the 2023 Ottawa Awards, they made history as the first queer female to win Ottawa’s Best DJ. This year they are traveling across Canada to DJ in Pride parades. They are also on the Affirm committee with the United Church of Canada giving workshops on 2SLGTBQ+ inclusivity & faith while helping churches in Canada become affirming of people of all races, genders and sexualities. They believe that knowledge is power and the more we educate the world the more peaceful it will become and we can all unite as one.
