The unique story of Dj K.Nox
Dj K.Nox story started in the rave era! What a unique culture this was! After performing on the local scene for a while, Kynoxe (his first dj name) had the audacity to do a set with a Soprano of the Quebec Opera. This unique trance set was a big hit and has been recorded live. As he just finished college & wanted to travel, he sent the demo to many Australian promoters and got 4 bookings out of it, including at Exodus, the largest Electronic Festival of the Southern Hemisphere. Kynoxe shared his tour adventures on some Blogs, including the popular « Ravezone », and his story got relayed in some mainstream newspapers, like the Voir Quebec. When he came back, everything had changed. He starts performing at bigger parties, at prime time, from Québec City Convention Center to Montreal, Miami, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, and even on the main stage of the World Electronic Music Festival! With time, his style evolved, he got into electro house & became K.Nox. With this new sound, he became resident of the edgy “ FreakShow” and continue performing everywhere around. After moving to Montreal in 2007, he got a new epic residency (ElectroSexual) at one of the best Club in town (if not in Canada), The Parking Nightclub! There, he played alongside some of the best djs of the time, like Alex Gaudino, Tracy Young, Dave Aude, Isaac Escalente, Phil Romano & Hector Fonseca. He also played at many events and famous club, like the Fly Toronto. But life change and for love and carrier reasons, K.Nox decided to put a hold on deejaying.
Years after, the Pandemic happen and K.Nox had a lot of free time to explore new sonorities, create a style that would represent him now and bring his passion for music back to life! He first start playing in small underground parties, then it got bigger, and then he got booked again at some of the best events in Montreal! From District to Drama Queen, Maskarade, the AIM Festival and even at the legendary Stereo Afterhour, K.Nox soon exported his talent out of town, like New York, in Toronto, Ibiza, Chicago and in Mexico for the Arena Festival. In no time, K.Nox re-establish himself as a reference in the Canadian Gay Scene, launching the new unapologetic Thirsty events and performing at some of the biggest Gay events in Canada this summer, like at LaLeche, presented by Prism for Toronto Pride, or at the Fierté Montreal Sunday T-Dance.
