Bruce Richman is the Executive Director of the Prevention Access Campaign and is at the forefront of the international Undetectable Equals Untransmittable or U=U movement. Richman has fought relentlessly to share the groundbreaking and stigma-shattering evidence that proves people living with HIV who have reduced their viral loads to an undetectable level cannot transmit HIV sexually. The positive impact the U=U campaign has had on the lives of those living with HIV cannot be overstated.
“We will not let people lie about us,” Richman says. “U equals U, undetectable equals untransmittable… is dismantling HIV stigma. It’s incentivizing treatment uptake and adherence. And it underscores the demand for universal treatment and prevention access. U equals U changes everything!”
In celebration of the importance of U=U and in recognition of Richman’s international leadership, Capital Pride welcomes Bruce Richman as our 2018 International Marshal.

Despite being in its first year, SAEFTY is having a big impact on trans youth across the region and for that reason Capital Pride welcomes SAEFTY and its founders as our 2018 Youth Marshal.
